Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby 2023

The 2023 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby will take place in Dublin's Shelbourne Park this August and September. The Derby is the most prestigous event in the Irish Greyhound Racing calendar.

RTE Sport reporter Mike McCartney was in Shelbourne Park on Saturday 2nd September for the 2023 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby Final. Mike captured a flavour of the atmosphere in the stadium on the biggest night of the year in Greyhound Racing. In the build up to the final he spoke to Racing Manager Michael Dempsey, IRGT's Jo and her retired greyhound Sergio and the connections of the finalists. He also spoke to two big names in GAA, both with great connections to Greyhound Racing. former Tipperary Hurling Manager Liam Sheedy and the current Manager Liam Cahill. Mike wraps up with a wonderful interview with winning trainer Jennifer O'Donnell and her mother Frances as they reflect on a wonderful win with The Other Kobe and a fantastic double having won in 2022 with his litter brother Born Warrior.
