A Visit To The Winning Club: Knockainey GAA

Congratulations Clonbrien Treaty

On Friday 21st April, in front of a packed Limerick Greyhound Stadium, Clonbrien Treaty became the 10th winner of the prestigous Con and Annie Kirby Memorial. Having taken the lead after the first bend, Clonbrien Treaty powered home to a very convincing win, 8 and a half lengths clear of the runner-up.

In doing so he won he took home a massive €80,000 for Limerick owners James Murphy and his daughter Muireann and their family. It was very much a family affair with Jim's brother Jerry Murphy having bred their champion.

Tipperary trainer Graham Holland completed a Kirby double following on from last year's win with Swords Rex. This was his second training win in the competition.

A large crowd from Clonbrien Treaty's nominated Limerick GAA Club, Knockainey GAA, were in full-voice cheering home their favourite. The delighted club will now receive a massive €10,000 from our sponsors JP & Noreen McManus. We also look forward to welcoming the club back for a FREE fundraising event as part of their prize.
