There were a number of fine displays in the opening round of the Pat Curtin Memorial at Mullingar last weekend and it seems safe to expect more of the same this evening.
In fact, many of those in action seem likely to step up on their latest form, providing come superb racing action.
MOE TO FOLLOW UP
Breffni Moe was fastest last week, charging clear after a slick exit to win in 29.39 and his reward for that display is another favourable draw in the final heat.
Housed in red, the son of Deerjet Sydney can again emerge on top for Seamus Reilly, potentially at the expense of Millies Wood and the lightly raced Ballyhoe Merl.
RIVERIA WITH THE DRAW
Droopys Riveria has been given a similar reward for her opening round heroics in Heat 3.
She too is drawn on the fence and is certain to make a bold bid, although she may need to sharpen up a little at boxes with many of her rivals likely to go up strongly. These include Ballivors Bullet, Lonely Pat, Ballyhealy Zip and Bauneys Blue.
OBELISK CAN STRIP FITTER
Heat 2 is a decent contest.
Obelisk was picked up late in his comeback run last week and seems likely to strip fitter. If getting to the front before the turn, he can hold off the likes of Phoenix Lana, Faydas Lullaby and After that.
MACSET FOR ANOTHER SUPA DISPLAY
Supa Mac opened his account last weekend and seems likely to double his tally in the opening heat for Paul Hennessy and Paul Hynes.
He was highly tried in his first two starts in the Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced at Cork and seemed to appreciate the step down in grade last time. He can improve again to emerge a comfortable scorer. Not Certain and Delvin Man can emerge the main dangers.
