The second round of the valuable Paddy & Eamon Carroll Memorial will bookend this evening’s action at Dundalk.
Racing commences with the first two heats, while the final two heats are races nine and ten on the card, which also feature a couple of notable sprint contests.
CERT TO FOLLOW UP
Highview Cert impressed in the opening round to win in 28.94 and he can step up on that form in the second heat where he again lines out in the white jacket of three.
He faces fellow opening round winners Ohtheretom and Calm Ace but is a confident selection.
Expect Josie Burns’ son of Mcinerney to race prominently from the start before asserting down the back straight. Ohtheretom can come through as his nearest rival.
DANCER JUST GETS THE NOD
The opening heat looks a wide-open affair with none jumping off the page.
Dryland Roxy went fastest of the field in the opening round, finishing second. Her win record is not good and is overlooked with Barnhill Dancer instead getting the nod from an ideal draw in six. The latter was second to Highview Cert in the opening round and enough on his card to suggest he can go close for Val Rogers.
BLAZE TO BURN OFF RIVALS
Coolemount Blaze is the one to beat in Heat 3 after staying on well to win his opening round assignment.
No fewer than three of his rivals led in their latest start only to be picked up in the latter stages. Blue Rinse, More Porter and Ronnies Debruyne can again race prominently but they can’t all dictate and Coolemount Blaze is chosen to run them down in the closing yards.
MAKEDATUP TO BOOST RECORD
Makedatup boasts a record of three wins from five starts and is selected to make it four from six in the final heat.
A trap to line winner last week in 29.06, he comes into the contest in fine form and can again make all to get the better of the likes of Dryland Viper, Ravenswood Roo and Rosies Cashout.
