IRISH SET TO TRIAL AT TOWCESTER ON WEDNESDAY

Brendan Matthews and John Kennedy will be journeying to Towcester on Wednesday to begin their Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd. English Greyhound Derby preparations.

Hall of Fame handler Brendan Matthews will be sending four of his young, hugely promising team. Ello Ello, who was so impressive in the early rounds of the Kirby Memorial, will be joined by Unassuming, Shudacudawuouda and Down Tothe Wire. All four will be trialled over the 500m Derby trip.

John Kennedy sends over the brilliantly fast Epic Ace. He too is set to trial over the 500m trip and it will be interesting to see how he handles the circuit. Of course, his brother Lennies Desire holds the track record for the trip, while he boasts a notable victory over Bockos Diamond in the opening round of the Irish Derby, while he also reached the final of the Irish Sprint Cup.
