TOM PA AND HIS FUNDRASIING COMMITTEE SHOULD BE VERY PROUD

Ian Fortune

He’s done it. A few months back, we brought you news of Tom Pa O’Connor and his bid to raise €100,000 for a number of worthwhile causes including the Kerry Hospice Foundation, Cork University Hospital Charity, Milford Hospice Care Centre and Kerry Cancer Support Group.

Not only has he reached the goal but he surpassed it by an incredible €28k. A massive congratulations to Tom Pa and all that helped him with his campaign. Padraig Bunyan from the fundraising committee posted the results of the hugely successful raffle on social media and also confirmed the final €128,000 figure. The committee also sent on a statement which reads:

On behalf of Tom Pa and the fundraising committee I would like to thank the ICC and Co. Limerick Coursing Club, Sporting Press, the GRI and everyone involved in making it possible to run this fundraiser so successfully. We were met with unbelievable generosity throughout our campaign. It is a great credit to the greyhound community that we only received our first donation on 13th December and less than 12 weeks later we have received over €128,000 in donations.
Our nominated charities are;
Kerry Hospice Foundation
Cork University Hospital Charity
Milford Hospice Care Centre
Kerry Cancer Support Group - this bus service serves not only Kerry but also several towns in Limerick and Cork 5 days per week taking cancer patients to and from their treatments at the Mid-Western Radiation and Oncology Unit in Limerick and the Oncology Department at CUH in Cork.
We hope that the funds we have raised can positively impact the lives of cancer patients now and well into the future
.

Once again, a huge congratulations to the fundraising committee, a massive well done to all that contributed and donated and, of course, to the man himself, Tom Pa, you should hold your head up high. You’ve done a truly wonderful thing.
