WHEATLEY MEMORIAL CONTINUES AT NEWBRIDGE

The valuable Eamon Wheatley Memorial A4/A5 525 continues at Newbridge this evening with two competitive semi-finals.

The opening heat is incredibly well matched with only three lengths separating the six runners on opening round clocks.

MAJOR CAN MARCH TO VICTORY

Indeed, if you take out the slowest of the six, Dobbsey, only nine spots separated the top five on the clock.

That said, Dobbsey has the early speed and ability to get involved from an ideal draw in the stripes as the sole wide seed.

Glenview Lady, Kiltegan Cindy and Florida Major all won their opening round assignments and the trio can again have a big say in the outcome. Florida Major is improving at a rate of knots and is selected to get loose to lead home Kiltegan Cindy.

CINNAMON CAN EMERGE ON TOP

Home Darragh is the only runner in the second heat to win last weekend in the opening round.

On that occasion, he got loose early to contain the big finish of Snazzy Cinnamon. With a clear passage in the early yards, Snazzy Cinnamon is perhaps ready to reverse that form.

Of the remainder, Coola Copper and Swift Hazed have enough pace to get involved but Snazzy Cinnamon remains the choice to emerge on top.
