OAKFIELD WAS A BULLET

Peter Farrell

In amongst the Willie Maher action, it would be remiss not to mention a performance of real class in the concluding race as Oakfield Bullet got back to winning ways for Thomas Jordan.

Sent to traps as a 5/2 chance, Oakfield Bullet didn’t come away at all well from trap six and looked to have plenty on his plate as he sat closer to the back of the field than the front. The lead changed hands on several occasions down the back, however, one greyhound was making rapid inroads at the midway point and that was Oakfield Bullet. Quickly storming to the front, the son of Ballymac Best and Oakfield Madison drew clear thereafter as he stayed on with real intent to cross the line five and a half lengths clear. The time was a fantastic 28.85 .20s.
