Ireland have finally overtaken the home team as far as numbers are concerned in the Star Sports/ TRC English Derby at Towcester. Following Saturday’s third round action, Ireland have thirteen remaining runners, while the UK are represented by a total of eleven.

That doesn’t mean they will hold the majority going forward but it’s certainly good news at this point in the classic. In total, nine Irish trained runners crashed out of the classic at the weekend but we remain in a very strong position. Below we’ve highlighted some of the stats from the second round focusing on the Irish runners.
