DURROW STAR STORMS TO SPRING DERBY SUCCESS

    DURROW STAR, trained by Francis Murray for owner Diarmuid O’Neill, ran out a brilliant winner of the €7,500 to the winner Spring Derby at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

    The even money favourite was making it three wins on the bounce as the powerful running tracker delivered another top class winning performance.
    After turning alongside the early pace at the opening corners, it was always going to take something special to turn him over. In a great battle with Amazing Charmer on the back straight, the well fancied winner began to hit top gear from the turns for home. Super strong from there, the August puppy pulled right away to win, in 28.49. Drumshanbo Susie kept on well for second, five lengths back.

    LOCAL TRAINER KIERAN LYNCH ENJOYED A FANTASTIC FOUR TIMER.
    It all started when Peronys Zero made it back to back wins in the third, an S1 Sprint. Owned by Conor Motherway and Eoin Ivers, the 4-5 favourite impressed when delivering a fine front running 17.70 winning run.
    In the following race, an A2, Cuile Line Boy displayed stunning early speed when making all for Lynch and owners the Freemount Gang Syndicate. A bright prospect, the August puppy clocked sizzling early sectionals as the 2-1 shot beat Droopys Freckles, by three lengths, in 28.48.
    Sirius Alpha, trained by Lynch for the Sirius Syndicate, is a youngster going places after he made a successful winning sprint debut and in the process he made it two straight wins. The 5-4 favourite just made the bend in front and from there, he stayed on powerfully up front. A superb 17.49 winning performance, four and a half lengths clear of Healys Legacy.
    Parkview Sprite completed the Lynch four timer with an outstanding all the way success in race number seven, the opening semi final of the Curraheen Park A1 575. It looked like a red hot contest on paper, however, the John Quinn and John Maher owned runner, a 3-1 shot, was always in control up front. The classy performer kept finding up front as he beat Location, by a length, in 31.06.

    SMART WINNER
    In the second semi final, Danzig Rebel ran out a smart winner for trainer James Kelleher and owners the Castlegrounds Syndicate. The 5-2 winner drove a fantastic opening corner to slip around in front and from there, he was always looking strong. A 31.34 winning run, two lengths clear of Brogan Hillbilly.

    THREE ON THE BOUNCE
    The closing race produced an exciting finish with Satin Tango, trained by Johnny Linehan for Eugene Sheehan, making it three wins on the bounce. Kicking for home on the back straight, the 2-1 shot just did enough to fend off the fast finishing Da Tapper Flynn, by the shortest of margins, in 28.36.
