TWO SUPERB DISPLAYS IN THE GREYHOUND & PETWORLD JUVENILE CLASSIC

Barry Drake

Ballymac Marino (Vulturi-Jamaica Joy) went quickest on the clock in the Kingdom on Friday night as the semi-finals of the Greyhound & Petworld Juvenile Classic took centre stage.

Trained by Liam Dowling for owners the Metinthehalfway-Syndicate, the June puppy showed a lovely turn of pace heading into the opening corner and once the 5-4 favourite slipped around in front, he was always going to take the world of catching. Such a powerful front-running display, Ballymac Marino was making it three straight wins, clocking 28.29 and coming home with five lengths to spare over the running on Saleen Ollie. Three and a half lengths back to Hot Magic in third place.

BRAVE OPENING CORNER
In the opening heat, Terezas Mendoza drove a brave opening corner when winning for trainer Pat Buckley and owners the Queen-Of-The-South-Syndicate.

Ryhope Beach and Ballymac Walt were among the leading fancies, but they found the world of trouble at the opening corner. The 5-2 winner was making it back to back winning performances, in 28.37. Hitting the front at the opening corner, the April puppy showed her class once more, strong throughout, it was another stunning display up front. Dromana Boy was second, seven and a half lengths back, with a length back to Ower Mystery in third place.
