DREAM NOW A DUAL CLASSIC WINNER AFTER CESAREWITCH STROLL

Bobsleigh Dream was always going to leave a strong legacy, but after capturing the RPGTV Irish Cesarewitch in some style at Mullingar on Sunday afternoon, she ensured that he will be remembered as one of the very fastest females to race this century.

Certainly, Pat Buckley and Willie Joe Murphy would have been so proud of her latest classic success, as she made light work of her task from the front. It came as a bit of a surprise that she drifted out to 9-4 at the off but her supporters were richly rewarded.

Flying from trap our, he quickly had her rivals in the stretch. In contrast, the favourite Magical Mary mistimed her start from three and was always struggling to get involved. She took a further bump on the turn, ending her hopes of defending her title.

It was left up to Killahan Sydney to put up the biggest resistance to Bobsleigh Dream. He turned a close second but was left standing by his kennelmate to the third turn. Bobsleigh Dream was relentless out front.

The 2022 Leger champion entered the back straight with two lengths in hand but by the third turn was four lengths to the good. Despite running a slightly sticky third turn, she again put her foot down as they turned for home to further increased her advantage at the head of affairs.

Killahan Sydney seemed to fold up very quickly on the run in, leaving the fast-finishing Jacktavern Bella to come through for second but Bobsleigh Dream was in a league of her own. The daughter of Dropys Sydney and Bobsleigh Jet ran out a stunning seven length winner over Jacktavern Bella in 32.79. Peach Tree East ran a fine race to take third, a further three and a half lengths adrift.

But for the brief interruption to her momentum at the third turn, Bobsleigh Dream would surely have shaken the track record but she came up just four spots shy. As stated earlier, she is now a dual classic winner after her Leger success late last year. Where she ends up next has yet to be seen but it’ clear she is a very special lady and will b a huge player in whatever target’s she is aimed at.
