TINAHUE BRODIE DELIVERS A BIG PERFORMANCE IN KILCOHAN PARK

Barry Drake

TINAHUE BRODIE went quickest in the semi-finals of the Paddy & Ciara Sharkey Bookmakers & W.T.S.C A2 stake at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.

A 5-2 shot in the betting right, Tinahue Brodie came away racing and despite taking a step to the right early on, the early-paced runner still managed to lead around the opening turns. In the ownership of the Foxcall Syndicate, Tinahue Brodie was always doing enough up front and he went on to win, in 28.77.

Degreatdefecor was two lengths back in second, with a further length back to Rastafari Honey in third place.

JAYS SWALLOW
In the second semi-final, Jays Swallow landed the spoils for trainer Declan Byrne and owner James Phelan.

It was messy at the opening corner and the 4-1 shot took full advantage. Driving a great opening corner, Jays Swallow hit the front and he moved three clear to the third corner.

Rathfalla Logan caught the eye in the closing stages, finishing well, he got within a length of the winner, in 29.26, with a length back to Mulan Champ in third place.
