Droopys Riveria and Supa Mac justified favouritism in their respective semi-finals of the Pat Curtin Memorial Cup at Mullingar on Saturday night.
The latter went fastest once again, taking over at the third turn to emerge an easy winner, while Droopys Riveria took over a little earlier in her contest.
After breaking the 29 second barrier a week earlier, Supa Mac was the 1-1 favourite for the second heat and the Paul Hennessy trained son of Mcinerney and Illnotbeback duly obliged although he did move off the fence in the early yards and had to work to get to the lead.
Moving with real purpose down the back straight, Paul Hynes’ star took over before the third turn and proceeded to ease clear for a six length victory over Breffni Moe in 29.40 with Ballivors Bullet finishing a length further back in third.
RIVERIA MAKES MOST OF THE DRAW
Droopys Riveria made the most of an ideal draw on the fence in the opening heat, moving to the front on the corner before quickly putting the result beyond doubt.
Representing Sean Dunphy and Ian Reilly, the daughter of Shimma Shine and Queen Lilly went on to see off Lonely Pat by four and a half lengths in 29.66. Delvin Man was a length and a half further back in third.
