Supa Mac justified odds-on favouritism in some style in the final of the Pat Curtin Memorial Cup at Mullingar on Saturday night, again dipping under the 29 second barrier on his way to a wide margin victory.
The Paul Hennessy trained star is now destined for a Puppy Derby campaign and he seems ready for the test. A 4-6 chance from trap five on Saturday’s final, the son of Mcinerney and Illnotbeback was simply too hot for his rivals.
Breffni Moe was fastest into stride and Ballivors Bullet also went up fast but neither could match Supa Mac. Showing plenty of dash into the turn, Paul Hynes’ youngster asserted early and proceeded to draw right away.
By the time he hit the line, Supa Mac had nine and a half lengths in hand on Breffni Moe in 28.97. We won’t have to wait long to see him back in action as he is amongst the entries for the TIME Puppy Derby which gets underway on Tuesday night at Shelbourne Park.
