TWO FINALS ON SHELBOURNE CARD

There are two finals up for decision at Shelbourne Park this evening.

The feature in terms of monetary value is the www.irgt.ie A2/A3 525 decider and it looks quite a competitive affair with each of the six runners having realistic claims.

TOBY THE LIKELY LEADER

Hotshot Toby is perhaps the most likely pace-setter from an ideal draw in the stripes but he was picked up in each of his last two starts.

He gets the nod but could quickly find himself under pressure if failing to secure a clear advantage with Town Kitten, Ballinahow Hope and Group Silverstar all certain to finish fast.

Phoenix Cal is also respected after an impressive semi-final effort, but a trap five draw is a concern for the inside seed. If he is to follow up, he must come away racing. It’s difficult to pick a likely winner with any confidence but Hotshot Toby gets the nod on the basis that he will likely turn in front. 

COOL AND PAGE TO GO HEAD TO HEAD

Poppy Cool and Tearthepage out are the big two in the final of the Christmas Party Packages A1 NB 525.

Both were mighty impressive in their respective semi-finals, clocking 28.27 and 28.24 respectively. If either were to repeat that level of performance, they would likely take some catching.

Tearthepageout has a kind draw in the stripes as the sole wide seed but he must come away racing to follow up. Poppy Cool is drawn on the fence and seems to be improving at a rate of knots. With a fast start, she could potentially gets first run on her rivals and that is why she is chosen to emerge on top.
