The Racing Post confirmed the news yesterday evening that the Produce Stakes Lemon Joey had been sold and is set to join Craig Morris.
Said Morris to the Racing Post, “He came up for sale and I’m delighted to say that owner Adam Williams stepped in and we were able to do the deal with Murt Leahy.
“He’s a Classic winner who ran at the highest level in Ireland, including finishing third in the Laurels final at Cork in November. We’ll get him in and settled, but he’s race-fit so we’ll look at possible targets such as the Kent Plate at Central Park in March.”
Indeed, Lemon Joy was a top-class tracker throughout 2025. Aside from winning the Produce Stakes at Clonmel, he finished a close third behind Magical On Fire in the Laurels, was a semi-finalist in the Kirby memorial at Limerick and also ran in the Dundalk International.
A winner of 13 of his 41 career starts, he has all the qualities needed to make a splash in the UK and we wish both his new handler Craig Morris and owner Adam Williams the very best of luck with their new recruit.
