PARIS FASTEST IN KILKENNY’S LEAHY MEMORIAL

Lemon Paris set the standard in the Georgie Leahy Memorial at Kilkenny on Friday night, emerging a comfortable winner of the opening heat for Tom Lennon in 29.15.

The daughter of Grangeview Ten took charge at halfway and eased on to beat Killough Bird by five lengths.

PA CLAIMS WIN NUMBER 22

The remarkably consistent Birchfield Pa claimed the twenty second victory of his career in the second heat, belying his advancing years.

Moving to the front as they hit the back straight, the Thomas Leahy trained veteran emerged a length winner over Mystical Ranger in 29.57.

MISSION IN CONTROL

Mission Control was on the mark for Mick English and Owen Dooley in Heat 3.

A son of Dave Mentor, he led from the second turn to beat Chaotic Gustav by six lengths in 29.20.

DOUBLE DROPS RIVALS 

Double Drop was closest to Lemon Paris on the clock, coming home clear in Heat 4 in 29.17.

The Karol Ramsbottom trained daughter of Broadstrand Bono and Long Kiwi was dominant. Flashing from four, she was always in control before seeing off Arrigle Out by four and a half lengths.

BLUE TOO STRONG

The superior strength of Thomastown Blue made the difference in Heat 5.

The Michael Donnelly trained son of Grangeview Ten slipped around in second before taking over from Kilara Fontaine on the third turn. He then stayed on well to see off Volcano Vicy in 29.52.

MILE ON THE MARK

Racing ended with Foyle Milo making every inch of the running. In doing so, he completed a double for Tom Lennon.

Jointly owned by John Mackey, the son of Signet Ace and Foyle Lucy was never threatened after going to the front on the run to the bend. He eventually saw off Hello Petula by three and a half lengths in 29.38.
