Karol Ramsbottom continued to have a stranglehold on the TIME Greyhound Nutrition A3 525 at Kilkenny on Friday night, winning both semi-finals with Deadly Ace and Bricken Sober.
There was just a single spot between the duo with Deadly Ace going slightly quicker in the opening heat from an ideal draw on the fence. The son of Signet Ace and My Little Ivy was sent off a hot favourite and his many backers had no reason to be concerned as he held his pitch into the bend before asserting on the corner.
Garry Hannon’s charge proceeded to ease on for a nine-length success over Flamin Cashless in 29.20 on a track rated .40 slow. Triangle Musashi overcame traffic to finish another five lengths adrift in third.
SOBER FINDS A WAY
Karol Ramsbottom completed his double in the second heat. Bricken Sober may have been a little tardy at boxes in the second heat, but he displayed fine early speed to make a quick recovery.
The fast-starting Liberty Border flew from four and dictated the pace into the bend only for Bricken Sober to slip around a close second.
The Bally Three Syndicate owned son of Sober Glory and Sober Pearl made his move down the back straight, joining the early leader at halfway before forging on at the third turn. Liberty Border rallied in second but Bricken Sober stayed on to secure a length victory over Liberty Border in 29.21. Fun Time Max was best of the remainder in third, some three lengths further back.
