MONARCH STILL TOPS DERBY MARKET

Bouncing Monarch has been at the head of the BOYLE Sports Derby market for some time, but since the completion of the second round he has been way out on his own.

He was at his professional best on Saturday night, making all to win in a fastest of the Derby 29.08 and it was somewhat predictable that his price would collapse further. 

The fact that he has drawn four in the semi-finals has meant that he is perhaps a bigger price than many would have expected at 11-8 with the sponsors. Indeed, had he drawn trap one, he may well have gone odds on for Derby glory.

His main market rival remains Wi Can James. Now a 4-1 chance for the Derby, he will be hard to keep out of the final after drawing one in the semis. His kennel companion Waitingforastar continues to show the most incredible pace and is just 5-1, while there is a gap to Hackney Dancer at 12-1.
