Magical Luka remains one of the fastest greyhounds in training. It seems fair to make such a declaration after a stunning comeback performance at Dundalk on Saturday night.
Despite missing the kick, the son of King Sheeran and Magical Mary comfortably made the bend, leaving some talented rivals in his dust. The turn of pace was simply awesome as he asserted into the bend before going on to win by three and three quarter lengths from Clona Comet in 20.97. It is no exaggeration to suggest he could have gone considerably faster with a fast start and we eagerly await his next appearance on the track.
DRVEEN FASTEST IN O’NEILLS DOGFOOD STAKE
Later on the card, there were two fine displays in the semi-finals of the O’Neills Dogfood A2 525.
Drveen Lass went fastest in the second semi-final with Jim Joe McGrath’s daughter of Burgess Bucks hitting the front early before going on to see off Monleek Sudan by six and a half lengths in 28.73.
BLUES CONTINUES FINE RUN OF FORM
After winning over six bends earlier in the week, Country Blues continued her fine run of form by emerging a good winner of the opening semi-final.
David Hoey’s strong running daughter of Top Honcho turned close to the pace before making her superior strength count. Running on well, Country Blues emerged two and a half lengths clear of Hillview Prince in 28.84.
