JASPER IMPRESSES IN SHELBOURNE FEATURE

Ian Fortune

Rolo Jasper produced a flawless display to capture the feature at Shelbourne Park on Friday night, the final of the Talking Dogs A2.

Representing Barry Clancy and John Scofield, the son of Malachi and Distant Sal was razor-sharp in the early yards and quickly put his rivals on the backfoot.

Four lengths clear by the second turn, he continued to pile on the pressure in the manner of a greyhound with a bright future. By halfway, he was out of sight and he continued to gallop on with purpose before emerging a most impressive seven length scorer over Old Princess in a fastest of the night 28.50.

JOHNNY WINS DUAL DISTANCE DECIDER

Earlier in the evening, Jameson Johnny reversed semi-final form with Aussie Princess in the final of the A4 Dual Distance decider over the 575yd trip.

The Kevin Losty trained son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Wishful Ali relished the longer run to the bend, posting a quick 4.76 sectional, to make every inch.

Aussie Princess loomed large into the third turn but could never get past. Indeed, she found herself right behind the leader on the same racing line but Jameson Johnny had no intention of allowing his lead to slip.

In fact, in the final fifty yards, he kicked again to increase his advantage before crossing the line two lengths clear of Aussie Princess in 31.25.
