It was a memorable meeting for a few owners at Limerick on Thursday afternoon but Myles Cummins in particular had a meeting to remember as he recorded no fewer than four winners on the card.
Snuggie Archie got the ball rolling in race two as Snuggie Archie won by the narrowest of margins at odds of 7/2. Breaking just ahead of Astro Podge at traprise, the latter took control entering the back and in truth, ‘Archie’ looked dead and buried as the son of Paddy's Magic regressed at the halfway mark into fourth. However, sticking to his inside line well, the near veteran showed his gameness to rally up the inside and seal a short-head victory over Westwind Cabra in second. The time was 29.74.
In the very next race, Tiermana Sky (3/1) won for the fourth time as she led from traprise to seal victory. Also donning the red jacket, the October puppy broke well from her inside berth to take charge at the opener. In doing so, she set a strong gallop throughout to cross the line one length clear of Rockbarton Dream in second. The time for the daughter of Ballyhimikin Jet was 29.18.
Snuggie Jasper got in on the act in race five as the 7/2 chance won for the twenty-third time in his career. A brother of ‘Archie’, ‘Jasper’ took a flyer from trap one and he took a one length lead into the back from Adamswood Rumble in second. Narrowly in front at the halfway mark, the July whelp found a second wind in the closing yards to cross the line one and a half lengths cleare of Live Stream in second. The time was 29.20
The quadruple was completed in race ten as Snuggie Dash ran out a comprehensive winner to justify his 6/4 favouritism. Searching for his first victory, the son of Jacob Tashadelek and Miles Girl was slowly into stride, however, used his inside line to his benefit as he barged his way through to sit second. Quickly excelling to close the gap, ‘Dash’ powered his way to the front rounding the penultimate bend and he bound clear thereafter to win by a commanding four and a half lengths from Aqua Magnolia in second. The time was 29.34.
TALLY HO HAT-TRICK
Also worth a mention on the card was a hat-trick for the ‘Tally-Ho’ kennels as the Walls-Of-Tally-Ho Syndicate enjoyed a fine afternoon at their local venue.
Tally Ho Ten got the kennel off to the perfect start in race three as he doubled his career record. A son of Grangeview Ten and Crottys Act, the 11/2 chance made virtually every yard to cross the line with one length to spare in 29.01.
Tally Ho Daisy doubled up in race seven as she showed excellent track craft to score. Sent to traps at odds of 4/1, the daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Tally Ho Angel broke brilliantly from four, however, was headed early on by Freyas Robyn. However, trouble at the second bend saw ‘Daisy’ navigate to the inside and in doing so, she took charge from Syds Star in second. Showing fine determination thereafter, ‘Daisy’ stayed on well to see off Syds Star by three parts of a length in 29.28.
The treble was secured in race eight as Tally Ho Swift, a litter brother of ‘Ten’ won for the first time in his career. Another generous 10/3 chance, this contest was all one-way traffic as ‘Swift led early from trap three, before drawing clear of his rivals to cross the line in a blistering 28.56. It's fair to say that the penny may well have dropped with this fellow and he has a bright future going forward.
