DURROW STAR LAYS DOWN A SERIOUS MARKER IN SPRING DERBY

    Durrow Star, trained by Francis Murray for Diarmuid O’Neill, went quickest on the clock in the €7,500 to the winner Spring Derby at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
    The August puppy broke his main den status in terrific style as he led early and pulled right away for a wide margin success. Showing huge pace up front, the exciting talent came with twelve and a half lengths, in 28.15, at odds of 4-5.

    FOUR ON THE BOUNCE
    In the previous heat, the second heat, it was Gortkelly John who recorded four straight wins for Andrew Murray.

    The even money favourite posted a flying 3.26 sectional lead early and from there, the classy performer always looked good. Another superb front running display, clocking 28.44 and coming home with two and a half lengths to spare over Amazing Charmer.

    IN OTHER HEATS
    In the opening heat, there was a huge shock as 12-1 outsider Labana King returned to winning form.

    Owned by Batt O’Shea, the winner displayed nice early dash and with plenty of trouble in behind, he quickly took control up front. A 28.84 winning run, seven lengths clear of Great Morning.

    FINE PERFORMANCE 
    In the €1,000 to the winner Churchfield Stakes Guys & Dolls A4 Final, Garryvoe Bullet delivered a fine performance to win for the Pat Moloney team.

    The 3-1 turned handy and from halfway, he was in top gear. Pulling away up front, he beat Kilmomey Rymo, by six and a half lengths, in 28.73.

    STANDOUT RUNS
    In the S0/S1 sprint, Colour Matcher impressed with a stunning 17.40 winning run.

    Owned by Ger Crowley, the 9-4 winner got the better of Coretime Tom, by three and a half lengths.
    In the closing race, an A0, Satin Tango ran out a brilliant winner for trainer Johnny Linehan and owner Eugene Sheehan. Showing huge gear into the opening corner to lead, the in form tracker then stormed down the back in front. The 4-5 favourite was recording back to back wins, in 28.12, three lengths clear of the running on Da Tapper Flynn
