COLOURS MATTER FOR BRENDAN AND IAN

Paul Hennessy reported this morning that Dynamic Force is right as rain after picking up a heart-breaking career ending injury at Towcester in the semi-finals of the English Derby.

Said Hennessy, “we brought him to Denis Beary, who operated on him and, honestly, he’s running around the place like a pup. It was a great job. We’re bringing him down every week but he is in great order.”

For owners Brendan Corcoran and Ian Cunningham is was a tough pill to swallow to go from such a high to such an incredible low but they are back in business it seems after purchasing Coloursareblue after the opening round of the Celtic Cooling Refrigeration & Air Conditioning open Unraced Stake at Shelbourne Park.

The son of King Sheeran and Magical Mary displayed all sorts of pace and promise behind Droopys Painting and it seems likely he will develop into a top-class performer, albeit with a different name.

Thankfully, this scribe’s observational powers are still evident as the name change isn’t as obvious as most. Tonight, when having his second start under new trainer, the aforementioned Paul Hennessy, the artist formerly known as Coloursareblue will race as Coloursaregreen.

Why the subtle name change you may ask? Well, it seems his new owners Brendan and Ian are big Celtic supporters and his original name just wouldn’t do, given the fact that Glasgow Rangers wear blue. So Coloursaregreen will fly the flag for Celtic going forward.

Incidentally, it’s not the first time Brendan and Ian had to take such measures. Only last year they bought a promising young pup named Good Blue. Needless to say, he never raced under that name, instead hitting the track as Green Brigade. I sense a pattern. The best of luck to the Celtic loving duo with their newest purchase. He really does look like a star of the future.
