Ian Fortune
After a massive second round display, posting 21.13, Stonepark Browne is likely to again play a starring role in the semi-finals of the Pat Doran Memorial Fair Warrior at Mullingar this evening.
The Michael O’Donovan trained star is housed on the fence in the opening heat and will be very difficult to contain if starting on terms. Blessed with outstanding pace both into the turn and down the back straight, the son of Malachi stands out as the one to beat despite the presence of some talented rivals including last year’s winner Gem Friendly, the fast starting Minstrel Rocket and Rallying Billy.
Indeed, the battle for the minor placings could go right to the wire and much will depend on what gets first run. Stonepark Browne is chosen to assert early and go on to score with Gem Friendly and Rallying Billy selected to chase him home.
DANNY TO DELIVER
Callaway Danny lowered the colours of Stonepark Browne in the opening round and followed up last week when surviving a scare on the opening bend.
He can emerge as the leading light in the second semi-final where the main dangers come in the form of the fast-starting Boltaway Wink and the strong running Supa Mac.
