BLACKSTONE LEXUS (Droopys Jet-Magical Poppy) once again set the standard in the semi-finals of the T Nolan C.V.R.T Juvenile Classic at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium at Tralee on Friday night.
The June puppy (Pic right) Blackstone Lexus with Mark O'Donovan. impressed on debut, and the in-form youngster was recording back-to-back successes. After a pretty decent start from trap three, the exciting prospect displayed a lovely touch of early speed, and he drove a brave opening corner to turn in front from Silent Noelle.
On the back straight, he really opened up front, showing huge speed and power. Pulling away, the impressive winner galloped strongly to the line, coming home five and a half lengths clear of Silent Noelle. Ballymac Malinas a further length back in third place.
In the second semi-final, Ballymac Deniro (Ballymac Finn-Ballymac Arminta) (Pic right)Ballymac Deniro with Stephen Reidy. scored for the kennel of Liam Dowling.
The May puppy, the 5-4 favourite, broke well from the outside of the track, and the pacey youngster took over from Hackney Pup shortly after the second corner.
Really strong up front, the outcome was never in any doubt as Deniro stayed on strongly to beat the running on Ballymac Duffle.
Another superb winning run as Ballymac Deniro clocked 28.13, two and a half lengths clear of his Ballymac kennelmate. Glengar Echo was a further four and a half lengths back in third place
