A €5,000 winner’s prize was on offer at Galway Greyhound Stadium on Friday night as the final of the 1XBet Tour Series A3 525 was decided, with Noelles Bebeto coming out on top for Noelle and James Divilly.
Kindly sponsored by 1XBet, the event carried significant prize money and delivered consistently competitive racing across each round, building to a compelling finale. Hudson, having posted a standout 28.86 .10s in the semi-finals, was duly installed as the 4/6 favourite for Pat Norris. Yet, on the night, it was Noelles Bebeto who rose to the occasion, having previously failed to make a major impact in the earlier stages.
Still only a June puppy, Noelles Bebeto had already impressed in landing an unraced sprint stake at Galway. Despite encountering trouble at various points in the series, he appeared to benefit from the experience, producing a polished and assured display when it mattered most. Sent off at 5/2, ‘Bebeto’ broke sharply from the striped jacket, recording a rapid 3.28 sectional and showing excellent early pace to cross in front of Hudson on the run to the opening bend. Establishing a three-length advantage down the back straight, the contest soon developed into a two-dog duel between ‘Bebeto’ and Hudson. The favourite attempted to close the gap around the closing bends, but Noelles Bebeto always looked in control, maintaining a strong gallop to secure victory by two lengths. A son of Dromana Bucko out of Noelles Camino, the winner has now claimed five victories from just seven starts, adding a second notable sweepstake to his growing record. On the night, Divilly’s charge delivered a flawless performance, stopping the clock in a sharp 29.05 .10s.
