OPERA ON TUNE AT KILKENNY

OPERA ON TUNE AT KILKENNY

Ian Fortune

There were some fine displays in the opening round of the Deadly Kennels A2 525 at Kilkenny on Friday night but the undoubted star was Priceless Opera as she became the only heat winner to dip under 29 seconds, posting a rapid 28.81 in the final heat.

Trained by Paul Hennessy for his great friends Bryan and Kathleen Murphy, the daughter of Droopys Sydney and Bull Run Bistro flashed from traps and was never under any pressure as she raced to a comfortable four and a half length verdict over Kilgraney Leo.

BUBBLY NEXT QUICKEST

Next fastest was Graigues Bubbly for Darragh Morrissey.

The daughter of Ballymac Vic and Woe Katie was well off the pace in the early stages but flew home to lead late for a half length success over Warzone Milo in 29.07.

REMAINING HEAT WINNERS

Both Cheque For Sir and Knockdrinna Celt made all to win their respective heats.

The former saw off Grangeview Port by two and a half lengths in 29.20, while Knockdrinna Celt hit the line with a two lengths to spare over Ranchers Lockjaw in 29.19. The other heat went to Dalcash Dapper in 29.34.
