GIZMO DOMINATES AGAIN IN FAIR WARRIOR

It’s going to need something special from one of his rivals to stop Gizmo Cash from adding the Matchbook Fair Warrior Open Sprint title to his already impressive tally.

The Keeley McGee trained star set a strong standard in the opening round and followed up on Saturday, running out a ready winner of the opening quarter final.

This was another dominating display from the brindle son of Droopys Jet and Down The Green. Showing immediate acceleration after a fast start from two, Gizmo Cash quickly built a decisive advantage. Airport Flying ran a fine race in second but could never land a glove on the leader, who went on to score by four lengths in a superb fastest of the round 21.18.    

TIGER POUNCES

Sunshine Tiger got closest to Gizmo Cash on the clock, leading early to run out an impressive winner of the final heat for Ollie and Noeline Bray.

Going up straight and true from three, the son of Laughil Blake and No Recollection soon mastered Clonuff Colm into the corner before gong on to cross the line five lengths clear in a fast 21.26. Thirtynine Winks ran on well to take second with Clonuff Colm a neck adrift in third.  

PROFESSIONAL DISPLAY FROM ROB

Breaghmore Rob was an 8-1 chance ahead of the second heat but he was to emerge a deserving winner as he flashed from trap three to make every inch.

MJ Corrigan’s son of Ballymac Matt and Eileens Blue was razor-sharp in the opening exchanges and once going two lengths clear into the turn, he coasted home to see off Dardistown Alf by two and a half length in 21.51. Downstream Chief was left third at the second and he proceeded to finish just a half length back.

BULA BOLTS UP

Hot favourite Mustang Joey stumbled at boxes in Heat 3 but recovered well to qualify in third. In contrast, Dromrich Bula ran a big race to come home in front for John Durrigan.

The son of Jaytee Yankee and Sexy Woman motored into the turn to challenge on the outside of Confused Fitzy.

Despite taking a bump, Dromrich Bula ran a big second bend to move on from Clonfert Stan before going on to cross the line with three and a half lengths to spare in 21.66. Mustang Joey was another half length back in third.
