MISSING PUP HOME SAFE AND SOUND

MISSING PUP HOME SAFE AND SOUND

Ian Fortune

It’s almost ten days since we appealed for help in finding a bitch puppy in County Roscommon.

Alison Coxon was beside herself when she realised a young daughter of her brood O Mahoney had escaped and was missing but thankfully there is a happy ending.

Alison reports that after just over a week of numerous appeals, constant searching and many tears, she reappeared on Tuesday morning. Known at home as Maureen, the youngster was found asleep on the grass outside right next to the spot where she had escaped.

Said Alison, “It’s a miracle really. We searched everywhere for a week and there was not a single sighting of her by us or anyone in the area.

Then on Tuesday morning we went out to feed the pups in the field, as we do that first when we go out. And there he was lying asleep on the grass just next to where she jumped out. She was waiting to get back in. She got up and walked straight over to us wagging her tail.

“She is a little thin and has a few scrapes and scratches but is very happy in herself. She is doing great, eating well and will be good as new in no time. Maureen is loving the attention.”

It’s wonderful to hear that Maureen has returned home safe and sound and will be right as rain in no time. Who knows, this could be the type of story Alison could be retelling in the future after she has won a classic. Now that would be a story.
