WARM WEATHER EVENT – UPDATE SATURDAY 16TH JULY

WARM WEATHER EVENT – UPDATE SATURDAY 16TH JULY

GRI

Following a review of forecasted temperatures and in consultation with The Racing Management Team, RCÉ has confirmed that the following venues will NOT race this evening, Saturday 16th July:

Galway Greyhound Stadium

Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, Tralee

Thurles Greyhound Stadium

Limerick Greyhound Stadium

Mullingar Greyhound Stadium

Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium, Waterford

All other locations have been passed for racing at this time. However, to minimise time outside there will be no pre-racing parades and greyhounds will go straight to traps.

Trainers & Owners are asked to utilise all additional facilities such as greyhound baths and water points at each venue and to be mindful of the importance of good ventilation in all transportation arrangements.

As previously confirmed NO racing or trialling activities are permitted on Sunday 17th or Monday 18th July.

The monitoring of the extreme hot weather forecast for the coming days will continue and decisions will be taken based on the care and welfare needs of racing greyhounds.  Any changes to the existing schedule will be communicated via www.grireland.ie.

Owners and Trainers are also reminded to review the advisory from RCÉ in relation to ‘caring for the greyhound in hot weather’ - click here to view it.

Customers who have bookings made for the restaurant or group packages will be contacted directly with regard to their booking.
