WARM WEATHER EVENT- UPDATE JULY 15TH

GRI

Following a review of expected temperatures and consultation with The Racing Management Team RCÉ has confirmed that all locations will race this evening as scheduled.

An update to the previous statement on racing activities on Sunday & Monday has now been confirmed, with NO racing or trialling activity permitted to take place either day.

The monitoring of the extreme hot weather forecast for the coming days will continue and decisions will be taken based on the care and welfare needs of racing greyhounds.  Any changes to the existing schedule will be communicated via www.grireland.ie.

Arrangements are being made at tracks to ensure that additional water points including greyhound baths are made available and additional ventilation in kennels where appropriate.

Owners and trainers are reminded of the importance of good ventilation in transportation arrangements for greyhounds and ensuring that adequate water and other supports are available for all greyhounds.  Please click here to view a reminder of some tips "caring for the greyhound in hot weather from RCÉ/GRI
