TOM O’SULLIVAN

TOM O’SULLIVAN

It’s with sadness we must report the passing of Tom O’Sullivan.

Hailing from Greenfield, Kanturk, he was a proud Cork man and a true doggy man that was noted as a breeder of top-class greyhounds for many years.

His ‘Greenfield’ prefix was known throughout Ireland and the UK and he had real success. Countless stars carried the prefix through the years including Greenfield Deal, who finished third in the 2000 English Derby decider. He also reached the semi-finals of the Irish Derby that same year, briefly holding the 550yd clock at Shelbourne Park.

Tom was a popular and well-known figure on the track, especially at Cork and Tralee. A real gentleman, he will be missed by those that knew him. We would like to send on our sincerest condolences to his sons Michael and John, his sisters Betty and Sheila, his sisters in law, nephews and nieces, extended family and his many friends in greyhound racing.

May He Rest In Peace.
