MARLFIELD NIAMH posted a fantastic performance in Monday night's seventh race at Youghal track.

In the ownership of Patrick Brady, Clonmel, the daughter of Droopys Sydney and Marlfield Sue returned to winning form last time out and the pacey lady went even quicker this time around, posting 28.87.

The 7-2 shot overcame the trap five draw with a superb start. Coolbeg Whatical had a couple of lengths to make up at halfway and he finished strongly but Marlfield Niamh wasn't for stopping as she battled bravely to get the verdict, by a short head, in 28.87. (A0-A1).

MOLONEY DOUBLE
Portrait was the only other winner to dip under the 29-second barrier as Pat Moloney's dog clocked 28.94 for the Garryvoe kennel.

Dropped a mile in class, the 4-5 favourite took control early on and he quickened clear heading down the back straight. Dellser Bells caught the eye in second, the improving youngster ran on strongly for second. Three and a half lengths the winning margin.
Garryvoe Anton had earlier ran out an outstanding winner for the Moloney team. Out the back early on, the 3-1 shot made his move on the back straight and he loomed large on the turns for home. A superb display to win, in 29.09.
