YOUNG TRAINER ANNA STAPEL RECORDS FIRST WINNER IN YOUGHAL

Barry Drake

Having just her second runner as a trainer, ANNA STAPEL produced a really impressive winner in Youghal on Wednesday night as Nonevernomore, a litter brother to Dromana Bucko, returned to racing action after nearly a year off the track to win in superb style.

It was a fantastic performance to bring the talented greyhound back to racing action in such brilliant form. In the ownership of Thomas Hannon, the well-backed even money favourite showed a lovely injection of early dash to fly around the opening turns in front. Opening up heading down the back straight, the impressive winner quickly shot clear and he ran out a wide margin winner, in the quickest of the night, a flying 29.02. (A2).
Anna was a previous guest on the Talking Dogs on Thursday Podcast.
We wish Anna every success going forward and no doubt this is the first of many.

IN OTHER RACES.

Portraitput on a polished performance to beat a strong field of runners in race number seven, an A0-A1. Fresh from a treble here on Monday night, the Pat Moloney trained runner notched up a 13th career success with another outstanding front-running display. All one-way traffic up front, the classy winner scored with plenty to spare, in 29.04, at odds of 10-3.
Springside Jiver, trained by Jonathan Regan for Justin Houlihan, exploded from traps and the 7-2 winner delivered a stunning 29.10 winning performance. Rapid Jack kept on well for second, but the Dungarvan winner was three lengths too strong.
