Easter Cup sponsors Bresbet were quick of the draw with prices a week ago ahead if the opening round and that trend continues with the Sheffield based firm offering both ante-post and heat betting ahead of Saturday’s second round.

It’s wonderful to see the sponsor’s embracing their role and it’s also great to have the prices available so early in the week. Keep up the good work.

Susie Sapphire remains at the head of the market despite suffering defeat. She is also favourite to win her quarter final with the 11-8 on offer certain to attract plenty of interest. Carl Perry, Bresbet’s head of training, said “There were some excellent performances at Shelbourne on Saturday and you can see the event really taking shaping now.

“It was disappointing connections had to pull out Good Cody and hopefully he’ll be back on track soon, but to see Susie Sapphire progress was a boost for us as sponsors and no doubt for the sport itself. She’s a champion.”

Of course, Carl is a former trainer himself, and actually won the sprint race on Derby final night in 2014 with Geelo Vegas, so it’s fair to say he knows his onions.

Susie Sapphire is a 9-2 chance for outright glory with Bresbet believing that One Time Only is her greatest threat. The Laurels winner, who was actually bred by Susie Sapphire’s handler Owen McKenna, is an 8-1 chance.

Coolavanny Duke brought his tally to eight wins from nine starts on Saturday and is next in at 9-1 alongside the first of Graham Holland’s strong challenge, Knight Tornado. Fastest opening round winner Coo Leo is on the 11-1 mark, while the Graham Holland trained trio of Part Blake, Bockos Vieira and Romeo Magico are at 12-1.

There will also be huge interest in their heat betting. As stated, Susie Sapphire is 11-8 for the opening heat, while Coolavanny Duke (6-4), One Time Only (9-4) and Knight Tornado (9-4) are favourite for their respective heats. A full break down of the outright and heat betting can be seen below.
