FLASHING WILLOW returned to top form in the second semi-final of the Greyhound & Petworld Supersprint at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Trained by Pat Buckley for Kenny Glen, the 4-5 favourite showed a nice injection of pace heading into the opening corner and once he hit the front, it was game over. Echo Zulu was alongside at the first turn, but he had no answers for the impressive winner. Two lengths the margin, in 17.56. Skips Honisuckle was seven and a half lengths back in third place.

SUPER HIT MAN
Super Hit Man put on a great performance to win the opening semi final.

David Harrington's dog  produced a decent start and when Coolanorans Best and Wilderness Hades came together at the opening turn, the 5-2 shot then powered clear. Showing plenty of pace to win, Super Hit Man was eight and a half lengths clear of Fire Height Mal. Wilderness Hades a length and a half behind the runner up in third place.

IN OTHER RACES
Racing concluded with an outstanding winning display from Churchtown Syd. Trained by Denis Fitzgerald for owner Mick Crotty, the 2-1 winner broke well and the strong running tracker turned second behind the early paced Carefree Rocky. On terms before halfway, the winner dug deep to beat the gallant Carefree Rocky, by a length, in 28.47.
In the ninth, Ballinacarriga got back to winning ways for trainer Kieran Lynch and owners the Anna-Mac-Synidcate. Sent off at odds of 9-4, the impressive winner was soon in front after getting away to a lively start. Always in control, he ran out a 28.96 winner. Two and a half lengths clear of Ballymac Tiara.
Lynch was also on the scoresheet after the winning performance of Gentle Raven in the second, an A3. In the ownership of Fintan Lawlor, the 2-1 winner was getting off the mark for the first time on outing number three. A fine front running display to win, in 28.84.
In the fifth, Ballyhimikin Rex ran out a wide margin for the winner for Billy and John Dunne. The 6-4 market leader turned second early on behind the early paced Why Pennyash. Hitting the front at the second last corner, he pulled right away to win in style. A 28.75 winning performance. (A1).
In race six, the Ballycowen Kennels 550, it was Trumpers Del who came home in front. In the ownership of Shane Ronayne, the September puppy was making it back to back winning performances. Just making the corner in front, the 6-4 market leader quickly pulled three lengths clear. Victory Star never gave up in second and at the line, a length separated them, in 30.60. (A5).
