CLONA DUKE CAN BOUNCE BACK TO WINNING FORM IN SELECT STAKES

CLONA DUKE CAN BOUNCE BACK TO WINNING FORM IN SELECT STAKES

The Time Greyhound Nutrition Select Stake semi-finals are the feature races in Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.

Clona Duke, trained by Graham Holland for owner Kevin O'Brien, stands out in the opening heat. A recent 27.95 winner around Limerick, he's one of the hottest prospects in the world of greyhound racing. In a recent spin around Waterford, he clocked a sizzling 28.15 and providing he gets it right early, he should then prove too strong.

Of the others, Graham Holland's Galloping Sydney has plenty of strong recent form and the Una Creed owned runner could make a bold bid from the front with one of his typical fast starts.

WI CAN DREAM
In the second semi-final, Wi Can Dream can make the most of the rails pitch to win for trainer Pat Guilfoyle and owners Lars and Anita Wicander.

In fine form in recent outings, the selection impressed with a 28.56 winning performance last week. A quick start along the inside should make him difficult to beat.

Of the others, Callaway Pro Am, who is trained by Owen McKenna for owner Denis Murphy, is the next best. He clocked 28.42 in a recent spin around the Waterford track and he should deliver another big performance.

HONEY OZZIE STANDS OUT
In earlier races, Honey Ozzie stands out in the second semi-final of the Explosive Boy @ Stud ON2 stake.

The October puppy, a son of Droopys Sydney, delivered a fantastic 28.76 winning debut performance and with improvement expected, the exciting young talent can make it two wins from as many starts.
