CALLAWAY PRO AM IN TOP FORM IN SELECT STAKES AT KILCOHAN PARK

Barry Drake

CALLAWAY PRO AM went quickest in the semi-finals of the €10,000 to the winner TIME Greyhound Nutrition Select Stakes in Waterford on Saturday night.

Trained by Owen McKenna for owner Deniz Murphy, the even-money favourite produced a decent start and he turned just behind Wi Can Dream as they flew around the opening corners. It was a real battle up front, but the classy winner was a bit stronger in the closing stages. A powerful display from the impressive winner, clocking an outstanding 28.36 and coming home a length clear of Wi Can Dream. Two and a half lengths back to Kilgraney Sydney in third place.

IMPRESSIVE
Clona Duke was another to impress in the opening semi final.

Trained by Graham Holland for owner Kevin O'Brien, the 4-6 favourite drove a fantastic opening bend to turn second behind Ower Mystery. Showing plenty of speed heading down the back straight, Clona Duke was in front before the second last corner and he pulled away on the home straight to win in style. A 28.51 winning run, four lengths back to the The Other Kobe in second, with the same distance back to Cryptopunk in third place.
