1976 DERBY WINNER TAIN MOR REMEMBERED IN WEXFORD TODAY INTERVIEW

It’s 50 years since Tain Mor raced to 1976 Carrolls Irish Greyhound Derby glory at in Shelbourne Park.

To this day a portrait of the June '73 son of Monalee Champion is positioned above the stairs to the bar at Enniscorthy.

Trained by brothers, Paddy and the late Jack Nolan, he is still remembered fondly by many, particularly those around Enniscorthy. And it seems fitting that on the eve of the 2026 Derby final, Wexford Today have posted an in-depth interview detailing the story of Tain Mor and his wonderful Derby success.

Wexford Today sat down with Mary and Paddy Nolan in the Moyne, Enniscorthy, while also catching up with Shelbourne Park racing manager at the time, Paddy Ryan.
