RUSSMUR PAT ON TOP FORM AT CURRAHEEN PARK AS WE COUNT THE DAYS DOWN TO THE IRISH GREYHOUND LAURELS

While most of us were enjoying a magnificent night at Shelbourne Park on Saturday, the James O'Regan-trained Russmur Pat was delivering a top-class performance below in Curraheen Park.

In the ownership of Jeremiah Murphy, the 5-4 favourite was making it four straight wins at the Cork venue as the in-form tracker landed the €1,000 CB Tool Hire & Sales Ltd 525. He produced a great start from trap one and despite moving middle, he still managed to slip around in front from Illnotbeback. A length and a bit between them at the third corner, Russmur Pat flew home to score, in a fantastic 28.05, beating the gallant Illnotbeback, by two and a half lengths, with just a further length back to Churchtown Syd in third place.
