KIT MAN MAKES BRIGHT START AT ENNISCORTHY

KIT MAN MAKES BRIGHT START AT ENNISCORTHY

Ian Fortune

Kit Man set the standard in the opening round of the IRGT Open Novice 525 at Enniscorthy on Thursday.

The full-brother from a repeat mating to English Derby runner-up Mr Chelm was simply too good for his rivals in the opening heat, making every inch after a fast start to come home clear for Peter Cronin and Aidan Comerford.

The son of Droopys Sydney and Palermo eased right away to emerge a nine-length scorer over Caras Wildcat in a fastest of the night 29.00.

AVATAR TAKES FLIGHT

Next fastest was the Robert Gleeson trained Droopys Avatar (Droopys Sydney/ Droopys Pizazz) in the last of the three heats as he led early to score in 29.25.

He won by an even wider margin. Stretching right away to beat Gymstar Fabiola by fourteen lengths.

TURBO POWERED

There was a much closer finish to Heat 2 with Roanna Turbo just seeing off One Slick Sid.

One Slick Sid set the pace for much of the way but Roanna Turbo was too strong in the closing yards, coming from third to pounce late for Robbie O’Neill and Jack Michael.

The son of Ballymac Anton and Solway Rocket led in the closing yards for a neck verdict in 29.48.
