BUBBLES GOES POP

BUBBLES GOES POP

Ian Fortune

Much like her half-sister, the great Susie Sapphire, Lets Go Bubbles looked more than happy from an inside draw at Shelbourne Park on Thursday evening as she raced away with the valuable final of the Retired Greyhound Trust A3.

The Owen McKenna trained daughter of Droopys Sydney and Jetstream Lynx paced up strongly and was at the head of affairs from the early yards. Once turning in front, the verdict was never in any doubt. Peter Comerford’s promising youngster drew right away to emerge a seven length scorer over Ballygur Hanzo in 28.60.

AILSA GIVES RIVALS THE SLIP

The other final up for decision was that of the Barking Buzz App A4 525 and Droopys Ailsa justified odds-on favouritism for Robert Gleeson and owner Paul Allen.

The daughter of Loughteen Blanco and Droopys Berry shot up the fence to lead early before coming home three lengths clear of Phoenix Angie in 28.79.

DASH LOOKS A PROSPECT

There was also a notable display from racing debutant Jacktavern Dash in the semi-finals of the This Runs Deep ON2 525.

Trained by Nalin Monerawela for the Pillar Syndicate, the well bred son of Droopys Sydney and Limini was always in charge, flashing from the inside box to make every inch.

Easing further and further clear of his rivals he eventually struck the line with sixteen lengths in hand on Knockduff Soul in 28.65.

The other heat saw Noeleen Bray’s Silver King (Droopys Sydney/ Silver Penny) make all to come home three lengths clear of Annual Friendly in 29.13.
