A WONDERFUL FOUR TIMER FOR COOLBOY RUSTY

A WONDERFUL FOUR TIMER FOR COOLBOY RUSTY

Barry Drake

Owned and trained by Eric Prestage, Coolboy Rusty completed a wonderful four-timer when winning the final of the €2,800 to the winner John & Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial A1 570 at Tralee on Saturday night.

Impressive throughout the event, the winner was sent to traps as the well-fancied 5-4 market leader. Sunshine Dream was quickest into stride, but Coolboy Rusty drove a brilliant opening corner. Forcing his way to the front, he soon hit top gear as he pulled a length and a half clear of Millridge Bryce to the second last corner. Strong throughout, just like previous winning performances, he ran on strongly to the winning line. A most deserving winner, he came home a length clear of the running on Bounard Han, in 30.76. A further length back to Ladyswell in third place.

LOHER RON CATCHES THE EYE

Loher Ron beat a decent line-up in the closing race as Noel O'Leary's dog scored in 28.25. No stranger to big performances, the 6-4 stayed on well in the closing stages to beat Millridge Allie, by a length and a half, in 28.25. (A0).
