BROADSTRAND STRONGEST IN CURRAHEEN FEATURE

Barry Drake

BROADSTRAND NOAH ran out a brilliant winner of the GoGreyhoundRacing.ie AO/A1 575 final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
Trained by John Linehan for owners the Ryan-Drake-Donovan-Syndicate, the 2-1 shot produced a decent start and he just had enough early dash to slip around the opening turns in front. Favourite Churchtown Syd was soon on terms and we had a race on our hands. However, there was no stopping the strong running Broadstrand Noah and he pulled out all the stops to win the €1,000 first prize. At the line, Broadstrand Noah was two and a half lengths clear of Churchtown Syd.
MILLRIDE LEVI QUICKEST
Millridge Levi was quickest in the opening round of the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust A2/A3 550.

In the ownership of Donal O'Mahony, the 2-1 winner showed massive all round pace as the March puppy won easily. A 29.83 winning run, eleven lengths clear of Footfield Siren.
TOM O'NEILL DOUBLE
In the following heat, Our Dog Molly scored for trainer Tom O'Neill and owners the Boys-From-Bally-Syndicate.

A fine front running display from the 2-1 winner as the May youngster beat Blastoff Victor, by two lengths, in 30.25.
O'Neill doubled in the following race as Ballyhooly Belle returned to winning ways for owners the Ashgrove Trio Syndicate. The 5-4 favourite took control early on and she pulled away to beat Dromdowney Lass, by three and a half lengths, in 30.23.
O'LEARY DOUBLE
Mossy O'Leary enjoyed a lovely double. In the fourth, an AAO/A0, Aghaburren Bonny beat a strong field of runners when clocking 29.07.

A brave battling display to beat Cheeky Chloe, by three quarters of a length.
In the 11th, an A1, Aghaburren Bloom landed the spoils which completed the O'Leary double. The February puppy has now won four of his five career outings and this was another smart front running display. A 28.83 winning run, two and a half lengths clear of Cheeky Lily.
