CAREFREE SUCCESS IN ULSTER PUPPY CUP

Carefree Chief was an impressive winner of the DTSC Ulster Puppy Cup at Drumbo Park on Saturday night, justifying odds-on favouritism in the process.

The Kurtis Bain trained son of Laughil Blake and Carefree Grace was far from the fastest at traps but quickly moved through the gears to challenge on the inside of the track.

Showing tremendous early zip, he asserted well before the corner. Dromrich Bula also displayed early dash to sit a close second but there was no stopping Marina McKeown’s Carefree Chief. The August ’20 whelp stayed on strongly to secure a seventh career victory by a length in 17.87.

Stevie Knows stayed on very well to come through for second with Dromrich Bula just another length away in third.
