Rolo Tokyo continued his rapid rise up the ranks in the semi-finals of the Eamon and Paddy Carroll Memorial at Dundalk on Saturday night, posting a sensational 28.20, the third fastest time ever recorded for the standard trip at the Dowdallshill venue.
Breaking smartly from two, John Schofield’s son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Oi Oi Upenalty quickly asserted before racing right away from the always second Manalishi Jet. The Damian Maginn trained Rolo Tokyo would race to a five and three quarter length success. Manalishi Jet would finish second, a length ahead of Seek The Kingdom in third.

The other heat went the way of Highview Adam. Showing more early dash than in recent outings, the Paul Matthews trained son of Ballymac Cashout and Highview Moment disputed the lead into the turn before making the most of his inside line to go on.
Once doing so, Josie Burns’ promising youngster put the result beyond any doubt to halfway. Easing right away, the July ’23 whelp would go on to beat Jesting Aside and Moss Fairbanks by four and a half lengths and a half length in 28.49.
