SOVEREIGN BOT THE STAR AT ENNISCORTHY

After impressing in both the second round and semi-finals, Sovereign Boy ran out a tremendous winner of the €2,600 to the winner Elite Canine Genetics Unraced Stake at Enniscorthy on Monday night.

The massive son of Pat C Sabbath and Chaotic Lynda is a noted strong runner so when he went up fast to dictate into the turn, the result was never really in doubt.

Trained by Jim Scully for Michael Organ and Michael Egan, the August ’19 whelp broke smartly from three and posted a fastest of the competition 4.21 sectional. Azza Mojo was second into the turn but was involved in a scrimmage which allowed Lisnakill Benson to turn second.

Lisnakill Benson entered the back straight just a length adrift of Sovereign Boy but the latter was simply too quick. Charging clear into the third turn, Sovereign Boy was on his way to a comfortable success and he maintained a powerful gallop all the way to the finish to eventually score by five and a half lengths in 28.89. Lisnakill Benson was second, while Azza Mojo was a further eight and a half lengths adrift in third.
