There were some fine performances of note last night at Galway stadium and despite two kennels landing nice doubles, the star of the show was Palace Mystery who recorded a slick 28.57 for trainer Rachel Wheeler.

Owned by the Palace syndicate, Palace Mystery was making his first start at Galway track but was chasing a third victory for his Golden trainer Rachel Wheeler. Breaking smartly from trap three, the writing was on the wall early on for his rivals as the black hit the front to never see another tail thereafter. Striding out brilliantly down the far side, the son of ‘Boherna House - Palace Queen’ stayed on strong to record an eight length success in blistering time of 28.57.

Paddy and Paul Burke were at it again last night in Galway as their Bumblebee kennels recorded a nice double with their greyhounds Bumblebee Buzz and Bumblebee Queen.

Bumblebee Queen was first up in race two and she was swiftly into stride in this sprint contest to lead from trap one. Tracking well around the bottom two bends, the well-bred daughter of ‘Droopys Jet - Droopys Breeze’ held off the strong finish of Scala Mode to land the spoils. Over a length too strong, the time was 19.56.

Going considerably faster in race eight was Bumblebee Buzz. This lad was chasing a fifth win in ten outings and winged the lids from trap four to take a solid lead into the opening corner. It was all over as a contest thereafter and his nearest rival was some five lengths back in second. The time for the son of ‘Ballymac Vic - Bumblebee Rosie’ was a scorching 18.83.

Having tasted success the night prior, John and Patrick McDonagh were back in the winner’s circle last night as well as they recorded a good double with Croaghill Annie and Croaghill Tony.

Croaghill Annie was the first of the duo to cross in front as she claimed a A3 525 event. Fast away wearing the blue jacket, the daughter of ‘Laughil Blake - Croaghill Girl’ made every post a winning one as she recorded a two length victory in a time of 29.02.

Croaghill Tony was next to follow suit in race nine, an A4 550 event. Taking control off the second turn, the striped jacketed runner powered down the back straight and stayed on well close home. Two lengths clear at the winning line, the son of ‘Skywalker Luke - Oranmore Josie’ recorded a time of 30.51.

There were two other performances of note on the night and these came from Moanduff Daisy in the finale and Onthewireless in race four.

Onthewireless was first up for owner Gerry O'Donoghue who turned the tables on his debut defeat to run out a most convincing winner. Opening up a large advantage at an early stage, the son of ‘Skywalker Puma - Coolavanny Spice’ galloped out smartly to come home six lengths clear. The time was a slick 28.97.

In the final race of the night Moanduff Daisy got back to winning ways for owner Michael Rafferty. After winning five in a row a few months back, ‘Daisy’ was going through a lean spell by her standards but she motored from trap six last night to lead early doors. A tough nut to crack when on the bunny, the daughter of ‘Laughil Blake - Miss July’ stayed on well to record a four length win. The time was a good 30.17.
